Pig Snouts

Pig Snouts

Yes, those are what you think, pig snouts. Strolling through the market in a town in China, I saw most everything. The Chinese food in China is very much like the Chinese food in America, only with much less meat. I was looking forward to eating sweet sour ribs but when I was finally served the ribs, they were tiny, about two inches long and held only a bit of meat. I was served frogs with small pieces of meat, also only a bite. I was expecting frog legs. I can only imagine what type of frog I was eating. In the interior of China, carp was the fish most available. I don’t eat carp and did not taste it. Like most countries, there is usually a rivalry between the north and south. The north Chinese say the the southern Chinese eat everything from the water except submarines and the southern Chinese say the the northern Chinese eat everything with legs except a table. They have a good sense of humor.
