Featured in the picture from the zoo in Chonquing, China is one of the pandas living there. The zoo was busy with many Chinese visitors. Pandas don’t get along with each other so they are in separate pens. They were so cute, selecting bamboo stalks and munching on them. The scraps were below them and on their bellies. A mature panda will eat about 40 pounds of bamboo per day. Outside the city is a facility that breeds and protects the pandas. The guide told me that 8 baby pandas had been born this year. The zoo was a nice experience before boarding a riverboat to sail down the Yangtze River through the scenic gorges to the Three Gorges Dam.
