Hill Country Stuff
So much goes on in the Hill Country. Right now the turkeys are gobbling as we receive some needed rain, although it is just drizzle. Every little bit helps the parched earth. One of the game cameras on the ranch captured a bull elk, a magnificent animal. This weekend we are hosting our first hunters, coming to kill an aoudad and an axis. Since I purchased the adjoining ranch we have produced brochures and marketed our enterprise through word of mouth, networking and spreading the word with free bulletin boards at feed stores and other appropriate venues. Six months have passed and at last we have guests and another group booked for mid-June. Pretty exciting after setting up 8 blinds and feeders and putting out mineral and salt blocks as well as filling feeders on a weekly basis, not an easy job. To see some of the animals captured on camera, click the Media tab at the top of the website. And by the way, the fishing and photography are also good if you don’t wish to kill anything.
