Ambush Ranch is located at the end of Ranch Road 2631 approximately 8 miles north of Vance Texas.  The ranch sits along Bullhead Creek, one of the main head water tributaries of the Nueces River.  With rugged limestone cliffs and deep canyons along with majestic views the property offers a haven for those liking the great outdoors.  Less than three hours from San Antonio and about an hour and a half from Kerrville, Texas it is only a short drive for those who enjoy the rugged Texas Hill Country.

Offering both native and exotic hunting along with fishing, hiking and bird watching (over 200 species in the area), there is something to do for everyone.  But, just because the property is rugged and remote, don’t think you will need to rough it.  Ambush Hill Ranch offers luxury accommodations with two separate lodges.  Lodging starts at $125.00 per night per person or $250.00 per night should you want a chef and food included.  Should you desire to get out and about, there are numerous interesting places within a short driving distance.

Garner State Park and Lost Maples State Natural area are about an hour away and there is also the Devils Sinkhole where guides offer tours in the evenings from May through October to see one of the area’s largest free tail bat colony take flight.  If you want to try some of the local cuisine, there are numerous eating establishments in both Barksdale and Camp Wood and for those who have a sweet tooth, a stop at Bear Creek Fudge Co. in downtown  Camp Wood is a must..
